Chris,
I'm writing this on the fly so hope it's coherent and relevant but it's
what would get us more actively involved in both OAM and OSM.
btw, the OAM mail list is hard to find - it doesn't seem to be on the
main menu on the OAM home page - had to find it by tracking back from
your link
I see the need and use for OAM in several situations:
1) where jurisdictions have their on aerial photography they would like
to use in a nice framework like Open Layers or OSM.
2) coordination with Open Street Maps to produce map overlays on aerials
- would also help OSM with license unencumbered visual editing
3) for Linux, et al users - even Google is not supporting Linux on their
Google Earth web page plug-in (they say they will but haven't for a year
now - and even took 6-9 mos to come out with a Mac version)
4) integrating with OSM to provide better SVG drawing integration for
better graphics and possibly 3-D stuff.
