I haven't had time to read all the mail in this list, but I'd like to share a 
few thoughts:

- Separation of the tile service and the source image service is good. Very 
good.

- Why layers at all? I'm a fan of per-image OSM-like tags. "Layers" should be 
tag filters (IMHO).

- I put some stuff at http://wiki.openaerialmap.org/Use_Cases a while ago - I 
guess you read that before writing the tech proposal?


P.S.: I see no way to desubscribe one of my e-mail addresses from this mailing 
list - no interface on the mailman web page. How comes?
