[OAM-talk] What is the business elevator pitch?

Our NPS team is certainly motivated to contribute to a highly professional,
supportable long-term activity. If it becomes necessary, we're hoping that
this already-effective community will consider adopting some long-term process
rules to ensure that the resources might remain available effectively
and indefinitely.

If anyone wants to talk about writing proposals to help obtain backing funds
to accomplish these tasks properly, we're keen to be part of the dialog.

As a government university, NPS has sufficient authority to enter into
partnership relationships if needed. It also turns out that our public
status prevents us from directly accepting donations of equipment or funding,
in order to prevent any possible conflict of interest relationships.

Nevertheless donations remain possible for individuals or organizations
that want to contribute hardware or funding to support OpenAerialMap
server and services support at NPS. Tax-deductible contributions can be
made to the non-profit NPS Foundation, which can then loan the hardware
for proper administration and operation by our team. I'm not a lawyer,
but I imagine that yet another option is that some high-value dataset
might also be contributed and archived as a tax-deductible donation for
public use.

These are simply options available to the group, if they are agreeable.
We are looking for serious ways to properly support the community goals.
Again, IANAL. Disclaimer 1: my civil-service salary does not go up or
down based on any such donations. Disclaimer 2: proposals, donations
and partnerships to support OpenAerialMap are very interesting to us! 8)
Thanks for considering the possibilities.

all the best, Don
